WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT

Replacing the windshield on your RV/Motorhome is a technical endeavor that should only be performed by experienced technicians.  Krax Glass technicians have  a minimum five years of experience and some have over 20.   We will do a professional replacement for you!

Typically, the time required to replace a class A motorhome with a one piece windshield is 2-3 hours.  If your coach is a two piece type body then each side can take 1-2 hours.   If it is an older model and needs the gasket replaced and both sides the time can be 3-4 hours.

Preparation for windshield replacement is pretty straight forward.   Remove all items off the dashboad and lift all inside screens and remove outside windshield cover.  Make sure the floor near the front seats are clear of debris.  If the coach is a newer Winnebago, remove items from the overhead cabenet outer door areas.   Pull in any slides and make sure the coach is level.

After the windshield has been replaced, we recommend Class A motorhomes with one piece glue in windshields are not moved for 24 hours.  If it is a one piece gasket set, the coach can be moved in about 4-6 hours.  If the coach has two windshields, the wait time should be 4-6 hours.  The wait time is to make sure the urethane adhesive sets up so the coach is safe to drive.

If we are providing mobile service, the coach at your location must be level, slides in and 30 feet of clearance to the front of the coach.  We also need about 2-3 feet of clearance from each side of the coach for ladders.
